🥁 Humble Beginnings: Two Drumkits and a Dream

Every grand symphony starts with a single note. For us, that note was struck in a tiny bedroom. Driven by a desire to help kids master the drums, Kyle started teaching out of his own room, somehow squeezing two full drumkits into the tight space.

In June 2017, Kyle landed his very first paying student. Proving his absolute dedication to nurturing potential, he drove an hour each way every single week just to give that student a lesson. That unwavering commitment laid the foundation for everything SoulJu Music would become.

🏠 March 2019: Our First Real Home

As the bedroom grew too small for Kyle's growing vision, we officially opened our first small studio. It was a space with a dual heartbeat: by day, it was a dedicated classroom where students honed their skills; by night, it transformed into a cozy sanctuary for musicians to practice, rehearse, and jam.

🛡️ Resilience Through the Storm (2020 - 2021)

In October 2020, fueled by growing demand, we proudly opened our first official branch at Jalan Prima Setapak 5, allowing us to welcome more students for personalized, one-to-one classes.

But music is about adapting to the rhythm. When the second wave of COVID-19 lockdowns hit, we didn't miss a beat. We swiftly transitioned our classes online, launching interactive group sessions that kept our students playing and staying connected during isolating times. By 2021, our dedication to quality education was officially recognized when we became an accredited Rockschool Examination Centre.

✨ Creating Magical Moments (2022)

2022 was a year of profound connection. Premium instrument brands began partnering with us, filling our studio with high-quality gear for our students and the local jamming community to experience firsthand. We also expanded our family by launching toddler music classes—because the best time to start empowering a child is from the very beginning.

Our growing reputation led to invitations from other music centers to run training sessions, reigniting the musical spark in students across the city. But the crowning jewel of the year was on November 26th, 2022, when we hosted our very first Student & Teacher recital. We called it "FIRST MAGICAL MOMENT"—a beautiful showcase of raw talent, courage, and the pure magic of live performance.

🚀 Building Stages, Growing Confidence (2023 - 2024)

By 2023, SoulJu Music had evolved into a true ecosystem. We expanded our retail area, built deep connections with other schools, and started professional recording sessions for our students and KOL companies. We even produced our very first batch of Gospel drummers! The community grew stronger through our Music 2gather 1.0 and 2.0 recitals, bringing music lovers together to share the stage.

In 2024, we took our vision to bigger arenas. We proudly participated in the massive TARUMT Music Fiesta, and shortly after, we achieved a huge breakthrough: opening our second branch in Taman Mastiara, Jalan Ipoh. This new space featured our very own Recital Hall, a dedicated stage designed to help students step out of the classroom, face an audience, and build the unshakable confidence Kyle envisioned from the start.

🎤 The Future of SoulJu (2025 - 2026)

As we moved through 2025, we expanded into band classes and deepened our Rockschool programs, teaching students not just how to play, but how to lead and collaborate as a team.

Now, in 2026, we are thrilled to unveil our brand-new Event Hall. Capable of hosting up to 100 guests, it is a space dedicated to mini-concerts, masterclasses, and rich fellowship.

At SoulJu Music, we aren't just teaching instruments. We are raising the next generation of confident performers, empowering leaders, and providing a rejuvenating home for everyone who loves music.
